Book Cover: The Martian Exodus

Author Jahed Uddin approached me to created a book cover for the first in his trilogy Science Fiction series The Chronicles of Sol. He provided some sketches and details about the Atmos ship, which was to be the central focus for the illustration.

In it, we see the giant space station under attack, whilst below we see a populated surface of Mars. This was a real challenge, as it required creating a detail space station, something that I've never attempted before. Using Adobe Illustrators basic 3D tools, I used this as a base to then manually craft the textures and effects. Below are some early prototypes leading up to the finished cover artwork.
